2011 Left-over

I am happy to note that I have made the right decision to limit our menu for New Year's Eve. I really don't want anything in excess now. Add to the fact that I intend to go back to moderate eating and less carbohydrates after the holidays. Every year we tend to have left-over food from the new year celebration which lasts to a week. That is not good.

But this year I decided to only have one pasta (seafood pasta), 5 main dishes prepared in modest proportions - shrimp and ham jambalaya, fried chicken, a small serving of hamonado, sweet and sour lapu-lapu, shrimps. Our dessert consist of ice cream, 3 pans of leche flan, 1 pan of ube jam, fruit salad given by my in-laws and my favorite cake, Death by Tablea.

Today is the third day of January and I'm happy to note, what's left are 2 pans of leche flan, 3/4 pan of ube jam, maybe a bowl of ice cream and this....

This is a good start for the year. Nothing in excess. :)
